Marrakech Airport, also known as Marrakech Menara Airport, is the second busiest airport in Morocco. The airport is located about 8 km southwest of the city center and is easily accessible by various means of transport.

Marrakech Airport has two terminals: Terminal 1, which serves international flights, and Terminal 2, which serves domestic flights. The airport offers a range of facilities and services, including restaurants, cafes, duty-free shops, souvenir shops, ATMs, currency exchange offices and car rental agencies.

The journey from Marrakech Airport to the Old Town (Medina) is slightly longer and usually has more traffic than to the city center. The transfer from Marrakech airport to the Medina is quite easy and economical.

How to get from Marrakech Airport to Medina by bus

Bus line 19 is the best public transport option from Marrakech Airport to the Medina. The journey takes about 30 minutes (when there is moderate traffic) and the ticket costs €2.80 (MAD 30). Buses leave from the airport every 30 minutes from 18:00 to 00:15. The bus ticket can only be purchased from the driver.

Where does the bus leave from?

The bus stop of line 19 to Marrakech Airport is located 800 meters to the right of the taxi rank. The airport service staff can always help you locate the train station. For the old town area of the Medina, it is recommended to get off at the Jeema El Fna station. Note that the bus can serve individually all the major hotels in Marrakech. Report your destination to the driver so that he can plan his route.

How to get from Marrakech Airport to Medina by taxi

The official taxis in Marrakech are beige and have the famous rectangular taxi sign on the roof of their cars. The common fixed price for the Old Market is €6.50 (70MAD) and the journey takes about 15 minutes.

In general, there are two types of taxi services from Marrakech airport, the usual vehicles that accommodate small groups of up to 3 people, and minivans that are intended for large groups of up to 6 people.
Although the common practice is to bill via a taximeter, taxi connections from the airport have been set at fixed prices in order to simplify travel. For a typical car, the fare for the old city of Medina is €6.50 (MAD 70), while for larger minivans, the cost is higher at €14 (MAD 150).

The taxi rank is located just outside the arrivals terminal, on the right side of the exit gates. When you are still inside the airport, you will see signs indicating the route to the taxi rank.
